Our curriculum

The National Curriculum is just one element in the education of every child. It provides an outline of core knowledge around which teachers can develop exciting and stimulating lessons to promote the development of pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills as part of the wider school curriculum. In our school, we are supported in this by a number of schemes, used as a skeleton for planning and augmented by ideas and activities that enrich the learning. Our curriculum has been developed to meet the needs of our children, and it is reviewed each year with regard to the make-up of current cohorts and organisation of our classes.

We feel that our curriculum and school values prepare our pupils for life in modern Britain:

*   We respect everyone and everything around us

*   We welcome and include everybody

*   We all make good choices about how we behave

*   We always work hard and do our best

*   We move around the school sensibly
