On Friday 30th September 2011, the children celebrated Harvest by cooking lots of yummy food in their classes. A special whole school assembly was held at the end of the day. Maureen from FIND (Families In Need) led the assembly and shared with the children where all the packaged and tinned food that they had collected and brought in would go to and why it would help so much.
After school the children ran a Farmers Market in the playground where parents came and bought all the lovely cakes and fresh produce that had been donated. A massive £352.34 was raised in total! This money will be given to a charity called Seeds for Africa which helps African families and communities with the provision of seeds, agricultural equipment and relevant technical advice, giving individuals and communities a future, not just a temporary answer.
