Beyond the School gate
At Witnesham we are proud to support several different charities, as well as being involved with our local village community throughout the year.
The list below is not necessarily exhaustive, but gives a broad idea about the events, causes, charities and groups that we have had involvement with in recent times. For some of the causes detailed, you can reach their own web-site by clicking on the name of each charity:
We collect tins and packets of food at Harvest to assist FIND, a local charity who provide emergency assistance to families or individuals affected by poverty or dispossession.
We support the Love-in-a-Box charity, which sends Christmas presents to under privileged children throughout Eastern Europe; children who would have no present otherwise.
We had the excitement of being involved with recording a CD and performing in a live show for this event whilst helping raise money for Tearfund in the process.
Every other Christmas we hold a Christingle service at our village Parish Church. This well loved tradition also helps to raise money for The Children's Society.
Each December Class 3 visit Witnesham Nursing Home to sing Christmas Carols to the residents.
The Open the Book team come and lead fortnightly assemblies in our school. This is a national initiative but our well established team comes mainly from our village Baptist church.
Witnesham Hanging Baskets
We collaborate with Witnesham Parish Council over the hanging baskets which you see in the village. We plant the baskets and nuture them until they are ready to be put up on display for all to enjoy.
We support this very well known charity each year.
We have fun supporting Comic Relief when it happens.
Another of the nationally well known campaigns which we get involved with when it is happening.
